The
Spool Knitter is a very simple device used to produce a continuous length
of tubular rope. This rope was then used for making mats, rugs, belts, and
horse reins. A larger version of this device was even used to make socks
for Henry Ford. Many of us used Mama’s thread spools to make just such
a knitter.
